Huge amounts of money are being invested in the metaverse, an alternative world where you can work, play and meet people without leaving home.
In Snow Crash, the science fiction novel written by Neal Stephenson and published in 1992, in which the term “Metaverse” is mentioned for the first time. In its pages, the protagonist, Hiro Protagonist, navigates the virtual world.
Since 2003, millions of people have been working, playing and interacting in the metaverse of the online world Second Life.
